I contacted Tech Tuning Northwest after developing a persistent AdBlue countdown on my Mercedes C220d. The tank was full, but the car was still counting down towards a non-start situation. I'd already had the car looked at elsewhere and diagnostics carried out but hadn't managed to get the problem resolved.

Gary came out, carried out a comprehensive diagnostic scan before starting and clearly knew his way around the Mercedes system. My scan showed the existing NOx sensor communication faults together with the AdBlue countdown/start-inhibition faults.

The work was completed professionally and afterwards the AdBlue countdown disappeared and the car started normally with no engine-management light. A scan afterwards also showed that the previous NOx/AdBlue faults were no longer present.

I was particularly impressed that I was sent a full diagnostic report for my records rather than simply being told the job was done.

After spending a lot of time trying to get this issue resolved, it was a relief to finally get a result. Professional, knowledgeable and straightforward service. I would definitely recommend Gary and Tech Tuning Northwest.

It did this before and cost over £1500 for a new GPF at the dealership! Gary came out Saturday morning arrived bang on time and cleaned the filter and cleared the warnings, plus went through some other faults in the log. Gary cracked on with accessing the DPF and after checking the job needed to be done, he then began the deep clean of the filter. Goodness me, there was definitely a lot of c**p blocking it. I was taken aback by how dirty it was. When finished, all warning lights were off and it's driving as it should. Very reasonable price and completed without any hassle. Check Out A DPF Chemical Clean In Action!

This is during a two-stage chemical clean for the DPF filter on various vehicles. We carefully introduce a specially produced DPF filter cleaning solution to target and break down the accumulated hard soot and carbon built-up deposits. After allowing a short time for the solution to break down the deposits, we then run the engine at 3000 rpm while injecting further cleaning fluid using the running engine exhaust pressure to force out any remaining debris and force the cleaning fluid through and out the exhaust. This method is used successfully on all European diesel cars and vans also motorhomes.

We first run a full inspection of all the stored faults recorded and held the vehicle’s Ecu with a diagnostic tool running live data, looking at the back pressure from the dpf filter back pressure sensor. It can sometimes be discovered that the sensor is out of range and giving off incorrect readings but will also show us the soot level blockage level.
It must be noted that we always run a full diagnostics session before the cleaning process as there are many components in a diesel car’s system that control an automatic self-regeneration that the car itself carries out while it is being driven, but if one of the components have failed the driven regeneration will not start.
